Fantasy Park

Opened in 1996, Fantasy Park is one of Palakkad's best family attractions. It is located in Malampuzha next to the popular dam and gardens. It was the first park of its type in the Kerala region of India, and is only 10km from Palakkad town making it easy to get to. It is full of fun amusements for children and adults of all ages.

The park is open seven days a week from 10am until 7pm. Entry to the park costs Rs350 for a standard adult ticket and Rs350 for a standard child (below 4ft tall) ticket. There are also special packages for school and college trips. Besides the main attractions, the park also has a place to eat, ice cream parlor, a shop, and plenty of parking. The park is also a popular picnic location. If you plan to visit on the weekend or during holidays expect there to be big crowds.

Water World
Water World is one the park's most popular areas, especially on a hot day. It has a variety of thrills including death defying water slides, water tubes, pools, and a huge wave pool. For younger children and those who want a more relaxed water experience then head to the Malampuzha falls and run around under its raining water. One common practice you will witness here at the park that is not common in some other countries is that most people enjoy the water world attractions fully clothed, instead of wearing swimsuits, so do not be surprised and have fun doing it too.

Thrill Rides
On dry land, there are plenty of thrills to make your heart jump, such as the dragon coaster, a jumping horse, and the scooter ride. Older children and adults will love the go-karts and the Oriental express train. It also has plenty of rides for younger children, including the baby train and battery car rides. Besides traditional rides, there is a large complex full of simulator games for all ages.

The third area of the park is the newest addition to Fantasy Park. The planetarium is full of fun educational ways to explore space and the science surrounding it. It lets you explore Earth from the view of the moon, stars, and the planets. It is a unique way to experience the universe. The digital planetarium experience is a great way to get children interested in astronomy.

Getting There
The easiest way to get to the park is to either drive yourself or hire a driver. You can get a bus or train to Palakkad town and then travel the short distance to the park by car. The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport, which is 55km away.
The park is not only fun but also set amongst the beautiful scenery of the Western Ghats. The park took its design inspiration from the famous amusement park in Mumbai.
